Sirona Strategies Partner Chris Adamec was featured in TechTarget discussing CMS’s proposed changes to Medicare remote patient monitoring (RPM), which would limit payment for services furnished by contracted third-party clinical staff.
Adamec warned that the proposal takes an overly broad approach to legitimate program integrity concerns and could jeopardize access to high-quality RPM programs that help reduce hospitalizations and costs. He emphasized that many smaller, rural, and lower-resourced providers rely on specialized clinical partners because they lack the capacity to operate RPM programs entirely in-house. Rather than restricting these partnerships, Adamec called for targeted guardrails that address fraud and low-value care while preserving access to effective remote monitoring.
