The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released an interim COVID-19 vaccine playbook in September that directed state and local jurisdictions to create “micro plans” for vaccine distribution in their areas. Those plans are due back to CDC on October 16. On October 19, Sirona Strategies held a webinar and heard from the speakers from the National Governors Association, the National Association of Counties and the state of Arkansas about how state and local officials approached the planning process, ongoing barriers to planning for and administering the COVID-19 vaccine, and outstanding questions that remain.
The speakers featured in the webinar were Kate Johnson, Program Director, Healthcare Cost and Coverage, National Governors Association, Blaire Bryant, Associate Legislative Director, Health, National Association of Counties (NACo), and Jennifer Dillaha, M.D., State Epidemiologist, Medical Director, Immunizations and Outbreak Response, Arkansas Department of Health
